Breaking barriers: Fourth graders explore justice system during Romulus Courthouse Community Day

On Thursday, hundreds of fourth-grade students from Metro Detroit participated in the 34th District Courthouse's Community Day in Romulus, transforming the courthouse into an interactive learning environment. The event included a Community Day Quiz Bowl, sponsored by Feiger Law, where students answered questions about civics and American history, emphasizing the importance of understanding the legal system. Judge Teresa Patton highlighted the goal of reducing fear of the legal system and inspiring future legal professionals, while Avery Taylor pointed out the need to present the legal system positively. The event concluded successfully with Edgemont Elementary School winning the quiz bowl, and plans are in place to make it an annual feature.
