Eden Park Community Project aims to transform former Detroit school site

In a historic Detroit neighborhood, the Tri-City Community Development Corporation plans to transform the site of the former Mark Twain School into the Eden Park Community Project, an eco-friendly and sustainable park. This project aims to improve the quality of life in an area plagued by pollution, with features such as well-manicured grass, shade trees, scenic walking spaces, playscapes, and facilities for disabled and senior residents. To fund the $20 million development, a capital campaign has been launched, encouraging community involvement through small donations. The initiative is seen as a significant boost for the Southwest Detroit community, promoting environmental sustainability and preserving local history.
