Teen charged in deadly Eastpointe shooting

A Detroit teenager, Lakylia Sheila Taylor, was charged with multiple felonies, including second-degree homicide and assault with intent to murder, following a shooting incident outside a Footlocker in Eastpointe. The altercation began when her brother, Dejuan Taylor, confronted Tyjaune Pierre Morris-Turner, leading to a physical fight. Lakylia retrieved an unregistered gun from her car and shot Juvan Maurice Newman, who was allegedly on top of her brother, resulting in Newman and Steven Edward Gardin Jr.'s deaths. She was arraigned with a $2.5 million bond and faces upcoming legal proceedings.
