University of Michigan names interim president

The University of Michigan Board of Regents has appointed Domenico Grasso as interim president following Santa J. Ono's departure to become the sole finalist for the presidency at the University of Florida. Grasso, who has been the chancellor of the University of Michigan-Dearborn since 2018 and a professor at the institution, has a distinguished background in academia, including roles at the University of Delaware, Smith College, and the University of Vermont. He has improved the Dearborn campus's graduation rates and research funding. Grasso has expressed his intention to serve only in the interim capacity and has committed to leading with integrity and dedication.
