I-696 in Oakland County to close for 10 days

Westbound I-696 will close between I-75 and the Lodge for a 10-day period from May 9 to May 19, 2025, to demolish the Church Street plaza bridge. Traffic will be detoured via I-75, the Davison Freeway, and the Lodge Freeway. This closure is part of the final phase of MDOT's Restore the Reuther project, which includes rebuilding I-696 from 2025 through 2026 and repairing 60 bridges, with major work between I-75 and Dequindre Road planned for 2027.
