Driver sentenced in deadly drunk birthday party crash
Marshella Chidester, a Monroe resident, was sentenced for a drunk driving incident that resulted in the deaths of two children at the Swan Boat Club in April 2024. Chidester, attending a birthday party, had a blood alcohol level of 0.18 when she crashed her vehicle, killing siblings Zayn and Alanah Phillips and injuring their brother Jayden and others.
