Ex-Highland Park teacher was disguised at school event due to suspension over sex toy, police say

Former Highland Park teacher Vincent Weaver, 29, has been arraigned on charges of grooming and sexually assaulting a 12-year-old student at George Washington Carver Academy. The allegations led to his arrest on May 16, after the student reported the misconduct to a parent, who then alerted the school. Despite a suspension, Weaver disguised himself to attend a school event, where he was apprehended. He faces charges including first and second-degree criminal sexual conduct and was issued a $250,000 bond with conditions of no contact with minors and GPS monitoring.
