Ferndale says 'no' to 'No Mow May'
Ferndale is discontinuing its participation in "No Mow May" to focus on more permanent solutions for supporting pollinators. Instead of refraining from mowing grass, residents are encouraged to plant native species, with seeds provided by the city, to create sustainable habitats for bees, butterflies, and birds. Logan Applebee, the city's Zero Waste Systems Manager, highlights that even small steps, like putting a plant in a pot, can attract pollinators and contribute to the effort.
