Wayne State celebrates music icon Amp Fiddler's Legacy

A new art exhibit titled "Waltz of a Ghetto Fly" is opening at Wayne State University's Jacobs Gallery, honoring Detroit music icon Amp Fiddler. Curated by his widow, Tombi Stewart-Fiddler, the exhibit includes photos, artwork, interviews, and a career timeline showcasing Amp's influence across funk, disco, soul, neo-soul, R&B, and hip hop over 45 years. Following his death in 2023, Tombi has worked to ensure his legacy is recognized, including the declaration of May 16 as Amp Fiddler Day in Detroit and naming a street corner in his honor.
