28-year-old charged in connection with shooting at Redford Township high school

A 28-year-old woman has been charged with violating Michigan's safe storage laws after a 15-year-old boy, related to her, brought an unsecured handgun to Thurston High School in Redford Township. While handling the gun on a school bus, it discharged, injuring another 15-year-old boy. The student with the gun faces charges for carrying a concealed weapon, careless discharge of a firearm, and possession in a weapons-free school zone.
