President Trump weighs pardons for Whitmer kidnapping plotters

President Donald Trump indicated he might consider pardoning Barry Croft Jr. and Adam Fox, who were convicted in 2022 for plotting to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. Trump suggested the trial seemed unfair, with some believing the defendants were treated unjustly. The U.S. Justice Department's pardon attorney also expressed interest in reviewing the case. Croft and Fox, serving lengthy sentences, were deemed leaders in the conspiracy, while others involved face different charges and have had their appeals denied.
