Lawsuit claims discrimination by Melvindale police

Corporal Hassan Hammoud, a Lebanese Muslim officer with the Melvindale Police Department, is on leave and suing the department for racial and religious discrimination. He alleges that despite reporting misconduct by fellow officers, no investigations were conducted, and instead, he faced ostracization. His lawyer, Jon Marko, claims they have evidence of discriminatory actions, including crosses placed in Hammoud's mailbox. The department has yet to comment but may hold a press conference regarding the lawsuit next week.
