Oakland County student reaches semi-finals in National Spelling Bee

A 13-year-old from Texas, Faizan Zaki, won the Scripps National Spelling Bee, overcoming 243 other participants. Zaki, who was last year's runner-up, secured the Scripps Cup by showcasing his spelling skills. Among the competitors was Troy student Sanvi Mandvekar, who reached the semi-finals.
