All-electric aircraft makes historic flight

Beta Technologies made history with the first all-electric airplane to carry passengers to a commercial airport, flying from East Hampton to JFK in New York. Piloted by founder Kyle Clark, the 45-minute journey cost around eight dollars in electricity, offering a quieter and less flammable alternative to traditional jet fuel-powered flights.
