New Warren program targets domestic violence with immediate counseling, victim advocacy

The Warren Police Department has launched Operation Cycle Break, an initiative addressing domestic violence through swift justice and victim support. With over 9,100 domestic disturbance calls in two years, this program emphasizes victim safety, streamlined court processes, and offender rehabilitation via immediate counseling at arraignment. Early results show a 33% increase in warrant authorizations. Developed with various partners, including Turning Point and Wayne State University, the initiative sends a strong message against tolerating domestic violence in Warren.
