Detroit Historical Society launches Wayne County History Project

The Detroit Historical Society, in collaboration with Wayne County officials, has launched the Wayne County History Project, featuring its first exhibit at the Detroit Historical Museum. The exhibit, "Hotter Than July," celebrates Detroit's Black gay pride celebration, highlighting community-sourced content such as iconography, photographs, and banners from the 30-year event held in Palmer Park. Additionally, a new exhibit on Wayne County's history is being showcased at the Guardian Building, with displays changing every three months over an 18-month period.
