Sterling Heights tackles blight with new business ordinance

Sterling Heights is addressing its blight issue, particularly from empty strip malls, by approving a new ordinance to establish neighborhood and district "nodes." These zones will encourage the development of various businesses, such as golf simulators, restaurants, supermarkets, and gyms, in the vacant spaces. City Manager Mark Vanderpool and City Planner Jake Parcell are poised to discuss how this initiative aims to rejuvenate the community.
