Detroit families benefit from food distribution at Jalen Road Leadership Academy
Forgotten Harvest organizes food distribution events in Detroit, where increasing numbers of families face food insecurity. A recent event on Detroit’s West Side saw long lines of cars outside the Jalen Road Leadership Academy, with volunteers, including students, distributing food. The initiative, involving 80 mobile pantries, feeds between 100 to 500 families per site, with participants expressing gratitude for the support. Forgotten Harvest plans to expand its efforts with refitted, refrigerated trailers to further assist those in need.
