Detroit gas station clerk to be sentenced for murder of unarmed customer

Former gas station clerk Moad Mohamed Al-Gaham, convicted of second-degree murder for shooting Anthony McNary, will soon be sentenced in Detroit. The incident, stemming from an argument over beef jerky, involved Al-Gaham shooting the unarmed McNary through a gas station window in June 2023. The case raised community concerns and led to a city ordinance against locking patrons inside gas stations after similar incidents.
