Full hearing: Wrong-way driver sentenced in crash that killed Oakland County parents of 6
A Romulus man was sentenced to decades in prison after crashing into an Oakland County couple head-on on the Lodge Freeway, killing them. Angel Melendez-Ortiz, 37, was fleeing from police and driving a stolen pickup truck in the wrong direction when he crashed into Jen Ambrosio, 43, and Ryan Ambrosio, 45, of Farmington Hills. He was sentenced consecutively to 37-60 years in prison for the second-degree murder charges, and 10-15 years on counts three through 10, with those counts running concurrently with counts one and two. This means he will face a minimum period of 74 years in prison.
