Man killed during shootout with Warren police inside Detroit city limits

A man died after a police chase on Detroit's east side on July 8, following an attempted arson and domestic violence incident in Warren. Initially, police responded to a domestic disturbance call where a woman reported her boyfriend assaulted her and attempted to set the house on fire. The suspect, armed and having fled the scene, was later located by police, which led to a chase during which he fired at officers. He was found dead with a gunshot wound near his mother's home, though it remains unclear if the fatal shot was self-inflicted or fired by police.
