Shoes stay on: TSA updates screening policy

The TSA is implementing a new policy allowing passengers to keep their shoes on during screenings at most airports, starting Sunday, with plans for nationwide expansion. This change excludes Detroit Metro Airport for the initial rollout. Passengers who trigger alarms will still need to remove their shoes for additional screening. The shoe removal requirement was initially enforced in 2006 after Richard Reid's attempted shoe bombing.
