‘It’s been hell’: Family displaced by constant flooding at Detroit apartment
Raven Carter and her two children have been displaced from their Detroit apartment at Lexington Village due to severe and ongoing flooding, which has also caused their fuse box to smoke and spark. Despite reaching out, the apartment management has been unresponsive and dismissive, prompting Carter's mother, Judy Terry, to intervene on her behalf. The city of Detroit’s Housing Revitalization Department is now assisting Raven in finding new, safe housing, while Local 4 confirmed the flooding issues during a visit and reported the apartment staff’s lack of cooperation.
