Voters set to decide on new library development in Ann Arbor

A lawsuit filed Monday alleges Ann Arbor voters are being misled by the language in ballot proposals A and B. The debate centers on a downtown parking lot next to Library Lane and the Ann Arbor District Library on Fifth Avenue. Proposals A and B ask voters to approve the city selling the parking lot to the library for $1. This would allow the library to expand its footprint, but those opposed to the proposals want to preserve the current park space.
