Michiganders head to the polls in races that could reshape local politics

Michiganders are making their voices heard tonight! Votes are being tallied as we speak for dozens of local races and ballot proposals that could shape politics for years to come. Eight cities are narrowing down their mayoral races, with Detroit being the largest. They’ll elect a new mayor for the first time in more than 10 years this November. Local 4 already knows Detroit City Council President Mary Sheffield will be one of the two on the ballot. She has more than 50% of the current votes being counted.
