Alcohol suspected in high-speed crash into Michigan store

Police in Kalamazoo suspect alcohol contributed to a crash involving a speeding vehicle that collided with a downtown store on Michigan Avenue around 2:30 a.m. on August 6. The crash involved six people, with only the 22-year-old driver sustaining injuries that required hospital treatment. The vehicle's occupants included two teen boys, a teen girl, a 34-year-old woman, and an unidentified person who fled the scene. The store suffered significant damage, and the building is currently uninhabitable pending repairs.
