Judge allows ex-boyfriend in Ashley Elkins murder case to stand up for hearing, prosecutor objects

Deandre Booker stood for the duration of his preliminary examination on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025. The judge said Booker had said that he wanted to stand, and when questioned about whether he still wished to stand in court, Booker didn't respond, so he allowed him to remain standing. The prosecutor objected to this and said he believed it was an attempt to intimidate witnesses.
