Flashpoint: Aug. 10 2025: Attorney General Dana Nessel on active cases

On this week’s Flashpoint, Attorney General Dana Nessel discusses several important cases her office is working on. That includes recent raids on MEDC offices and the home of its former board member Fay Beydoun, who received a $20 million dollar earmark in a recent budget. Beydoun was appointed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer and we ask Nessel if this investigation is targeting the Governor. She also answers critics who say her 29 lawsuits against President Trump’s administration is classic weaponization of government against political opponents. She says she has won back more than $1 billion dollars for Michigan because of them. We also talk with form Mayor and City Council president Ken Cockrel, Jr. about the two finalists for Detroit mayor. What do Mary Sheffield and Solomon Kinloch, Jr. have to do right now to win in November?
