Flooding cancels last day of Wisconsin State Fair as authorities make water rescues in Milwaukee
Southeast Wisconsin is facing a historic rainfall event, heavily impacting Milwaukee and Waukesha counties with several inches of rain over a short period from Saturday night to Sunday morning. The storm left thousands without power, turned streets into waterways, and caused widespread basement flooding. The severe weather also forced the early closure of the Wisconsin State Fair, canceling performances, including the headliner Lynyrd Skynyrd. Milwaukee's Department of Public Works is currently assessing flood-related damage and responding to affected areas.
