Warren woman charged in deadly I-696 hit-and-run

A 36-year-old woman from Warren is facing felony charges after a hit-and-run incident on west I-696 resulted in the death of 29-year-old Nateria Smith. Smith was struck while filling her car with a gas can, and the driver, identified as Meghan Hamilton, allegedly fled the scene. The Chevrolet SUV involved was found near Hoover and Martin roads with damage consistent with the crash.
