Son of Motown legend Levi Stubbs targeted in Wayne County phone scam

Levi Stubbs III, son of Motown legend Levi Stubbs, was targeted by a phone scam in which fraudsters impersonated Wayne County Sheriff Raphael Washington, claiming Stubbs had missed jury duty and needed to pay $2,500 to avoid arrest. Stubbs, having a relationship with Sheriff Washington, confirmed the scam with him directly. This type of scam, where callers use real law enforcement names and demand payments through various methods, is prevalent in the area. The sheriff's office advises residents not to send money to such callers and to contact the office if they suspect a scam.
