Detroit adopts new tech to boost safety for first responders, drivers
The City of Detroit has implemented the HAAS Alert Safety Cloud, becoming the largest city to adopt this technology to enhance safety for first responders and residents. Approved by the City Council, the system sends digital alerts to drivers through platforms like Waze and Apple Maps, notifying them of nearby emergency vehicles. A pilot program demonstrated its effectiveness, leading to plans for wider deployment across Detroit Fire and Police Department vehicles. This initiative aims to improve safety and reduce repair costs from vehicle damage.
