Dearborn man faces attempted murder charges after intentional hit-and-run

A 40-year-old Dearborn man is critically injured and on a ventilator after being struck by an SUV in a hit-and-run near Michigan Avenue and Howe Street. The suspect, 38-year-old Murtadha Jabbar Alizairij, is accused of lying in wait for the victim, with whom he had a prior history. Alizairij fled the scene but later confessed to being the driver. He is being held on a $750 cash bond and faces multiple charges, while the officer involved in the victim's prior threat report is under internal review.
