Nearly 3 pounds of cocaine seized in Grand Rapids mail drug bust
Drug cartels are increasingly using mail services to ship cocaine into Michigan, breaking shipments into smaller packages to avoid detection. Cordairo Lambert was arrested in Grand Rapids after picking up one of two packages sent from Arizona, which contained dryer sheets and nearly three pounds of cocaine. Authorities, including the DEA, note that tighter security is driving cartels to use subterfuge, making it difficult to identify them. With rising demand and prices for cocaine, cartels are intensifying efforts to smuggle drugs into the region.
