Eastpointe woman accused of killing McDonald’s manager faces competency hearing

Afeni Badu Muhammad, a 27-year-old from Eastpointe, appeared in court for a review hearing concerning her competency evaluation after being accused of fatally stabbing her manager, Jennifer Harris, at a McDonald's in Eastpointe. The incident occurred after an argument on July 10, leading to charges of first-degree murder and other offenses. Muhammad's attorney, Joshua Jones, confirmed that the evaluation was conducted, with the report expected in 2-3 weeks. Muhammad has a previous conviction for unlawful felony wounding in Virginia, linked to a 2022 stabbing incident involving her boyfriend.
