Tara’s 5K Run & Walk returns to honor her legacy and support domestic violence survivors

The murder of Macomb County’s Tara Grant in 2007 stunned plenty of people all over metro Detroit. Her husband, Stephen Grant, first reported her missing, but police found her dismembered remains in their Washington Township Garage and at Stony Creek Metropark. Her husband was later convicted of killing her. Out of that tragedy, Tara’s family wanted to find a way to honor her and help others. Now, Tara’s 5K Run & Walk returns Sept. 13. Her family works with Turning Point Macomb, an agency that empowers victims of domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking.
