Oxford High School Shooting report finds no neglect, but major communication failures

A new 275-page report sheds light on what went wrong the day four students were killed and seven others wounded. Independent investigators at Guidepost Solutions found "No neglect or dereliction of duty." But did flag major breakdowns in communication and training. Among them: A delay in establishing incident command, causing confusion over resources. Poor communication between agencies and little joint training. No reunification plan between deputies and school staff. Families are left without adequate support or information. This follows a 2023 security report from Guidepost, which deemed Oxford’s current safety practices "Satisfactory".
