Detroit closes historic Hotel Yorba, building deemed unsafe

Detroit has ordered the closure of the historic Hotel Yorba, located on Lafayette Boulevard, after deeming it unsafe. Built in 1926 and visible from the Fisher Freeway, the hotel is currently for sale at $2.5 million. Known for housing workers during the construction of the Ambassador Bridge, it gained cultural fame as the setting for The White Stripes' "Hotel Yorba" music video.
