Victims range from 6 to 78 years old in Grand Blanc Township church attack

A tragic attack occurred at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on McCandlish Road on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2025, resulting in the deaths of five individuals, including the shooter, and leaving eight others injured. Among the injured, ages ranged from 6 to 78, with five suffering gunshot wounds and three experiencing smoke inhalation. Community members, including Donna Short, expressed solidarity and mourning, with tributes being shared, such as one from the Billmeier Camera Shop owner for his late father-in-law. Hospital reports indicate that two of the injured victims have been treated and released.
