Drug takeback boxes available at Detroit Police Department precincts -- What to know

Detroit is making it easier for people to safely get rid of unused or expired medication. New permanent takeback boxes are being installed at every Detroit police precinct. They will be available 24/7 for anonymous drop-offs of pills, tablets, vitamins and over-the-counter medications.  The goal of the initiative is to help prevent accidental poisonings, prescription drug misuse and even water contamination.
