Full hearing: Oakland County CEO charged in hyperbaric chamber death sent back to jail

Tamela Peterson, founder and CEO of an Oakland County health care facility, was sentenced to two days in jail for violating bond conditions related to a hyperbaric chamber explosion that killed a 5-year-old boy, Thomas Cooper, on January 31, 2025. Despite posting a $2 million bond, Peterson failed to surrender a firearm, choosing instead to sell it, which led to her guilty plea for the bond violation.
