3rd witness testifies in trial of men accused of posing as DTE workers, killing man
Valerie Mayra, a forensic laboratory investigator with expertise in fingerprint and crime scene analysis, testified at the trial of Carlos Jose Hernandez and Joshua Zuazo. She described the crime scene where Hussaine Murray was found bound at his hands and feet with two different kinds of duct tape, gray and black, and zip ties, laying on his side in his own blood. Mayra was unable to retrieve fingerprints matching the defendants, suggesting they might have worn gloves. The defense argued that using duct tape with gloves is difficult, while the prosecution countered that there are multiple ways to use duct tape.
