How this Detroit man caught the alligator on Belle Isle

A small alligator on Belle Isle in Detroit was captured by Steve Hart, a local dog trainer, and another man named Troy. The capture followed multiple reports confirmed by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. Hart received coordinates from a woman and, after an initial unsuccessful night search, found and captured the alligator with Troy’s help the next morning. The rescued alligator, named "Fafnir," is now housed at the Great Lakes Serpentarium in Westland, which will open for visitors on October 31.
