New numbers reveal that more than half of all children living in the city of Detroit have fallen below the poverty line. According to data released by the U.S. Census Bureau in September, 51% of children in 2024 in Detroit were living in poverty. Dr. Luke Shaefer from the University of Michigan, one of the nation's leading experts on poverty and social welfare, joined Local 4 to discuss the numbers.
