Retired Army Colonel Rocky Raczkowski joins discussion on Israel-Hamas ceasefire efforts
A senior Hamas official says they're waiting for a formal declaration of a ceasefire from Israel. The two sides have agreed on the first phase of a plan, calling for the removal of Israeli troops. Delivery of aid to Gaza and the release of Palestinian prisoners and Israeli hostages. According to the Israeli government, 47 hostages are still in Gaza. About 20 are presumed alive. But the status of two is unknown, and 25 are presumed dead. President Trump spoke on Thursday (Oct. 9) about the importance of getting them all back, regardless of their status. Joining me now is former soldier and diplomat, former Michigan House majority leader, and retired U.S. Army colonel Rocky Raczkowski. He was also awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his actions during combat in the global war on terror.
