Detroit church leader pleads not guilty in federal court
A "Not guilty" plea was entered for the man who claims to be "The best friend of Jesus" in his fight to stay out of jail. David Taylor, who calls himself an apostle, was arrested in North Carolina last month as part of a nationwide forced labor investigation. Prosecutors said Taylor and his co-defendant, Michelle Brannon, forced followers to work in call centers across four states, all part of their "Kingdom of God Global Church." Meanwhile, a group of Taylor's supporters is gathering outside the courthouse. Local 4 is awaiting a judge's decision in a detention hearing.
