City council approves more solar street lights in Highland Park

It's been more than a decade since Highland Park lost 1,400 street lights when DTE removed the poles due to unpaid bills. Now, a continued partnership between a local nonprofit and a solar company is bringing light back to these neighborhoods. The city council approved that 50 more solar-powered lights will be installed under this program.
