Detroit solar neighborhoods project breaks ground on east side vacant lots

Construction has begun on Detroit's first solar neighborhoods project, transforming 165 acres of vacant land across five neighborhoods into solar arrays. The initiative aims to offset the city's greenhouse gas emissions, provide clean energy to public facilities, and offer energy-efficiency upgrades to nearby residents. City leaders and partners, including DTE, are overseeing the project, which represents a significant step towards revitalizing urban land and promoting renewable energy.
