Dearborn terror plot: Encrypted chats, AR-15s, gun range visits linked to planned attack, FBI says
The FBI thwarted a planned terrorist attack in Michigan involving suspects Mohmed Ali and Majed Mahmoud, who were charged with firearms offenses related to terrorism. The plot involved encrypted communications, weapons purchases, and gun range visits by Ali, Mahmoud, a minor, and two other co-conspirators, with plans to attack Ferndale on behalf of ISIS. The group, who engaged in shooting practice and scouted potential targets, planned the attack for Halloween 2025. Federal agents recovered firearms, ammunition, tactical gear, and ISIS-related materials from their residences and a storage unit.
