Man dies after shooting at unauthorized barbershop operation behind Detroit school, police say

A man died Friday after a shooting at an unauthorized barbershop behind a Detroit school, police said. The shooting happened behind Charles Wright Academy of Arts and Sciences at 19299 Berg on Nov. 14, 2025. Police said a member of the janitorial staff was running the after-hours operation, and that the suspect and victim knew each other. Detroit Police Captain Matthew Bray shared information about the shooting on Friday.
